Seeking Manual / Technical Guide for O'Neil 8i impact printer
(1/1)
josecanuc:
Many years ago, I was given a couple of O'Neil 8i impact (dot-matrix) printers. The plan was to develop an amateur-radio emergency communications message passing system.
While that never materialized, I now have the itch to use them in some way, even if just an artistic endeavor.
Unfortunately, documentation is hard to come by now. It seems O'Neil is no longer in business, and a for a while, I can see references to "O'Neil / DataMax" brand, and eventually Honeywell. Archive.org has some versions of their website that look promising, except that the actual PDF/ZIP manuals were not archived.
My main interest is:
* Pinouts of the two data connectors: An RJ-11 jack, and a Mini-DIN 6 (female)
* Documentation on the serial protocol; especially model-specific escape commands for functions like form-feed, setting form height, homing, etc.
So -- does anyone here happen to have a PDF of the technical manual for an O'Neil Product Development model 8i impact printer?
