Another DMM Discussion!
« on: October 19, 2020, 04:55:56 pm »

First, this isn't about quality. It will probably blowup and take have your house with it, but that's not the focus of my post, today :)

Okay, I've never seen this before. There is no current measurement.

However, there are no settings on this thing, nor buttons. It's all touch screen. It supposedly does voltage, cap, diode, resistance, continuity - with no switches. It also has NVC with no switching. It has no buttons at all.

No current measurment is common for 'pocket' dmm.

It means the dmm does not need sockets so the current can be routed to a shunt.

I guess they are trying to marry phone/tablet like interfaces with dmm for new generation of kids.
So long as the design gives good resolution, accuracy and safety - why not.

Not my pereference but I guess this is down to personal preferences.

Yes, I realize no current measurement is common. I was just stating it for description purposes. I kinda want to request this item just to use as a continuity checker, but then, no. I'm done with crapola testers. I want to make sure my tests are actually testing what I want them to test. Now, for auto ranging, yes. No more blown fuses. lol

Oh, there are some reviews around on the internet, also sold as Aneng AN-888-S.

I see this on a repair shop in an open market where the technician that likes to listen to music all day long just ditched their "solid state" 7 transistor AM portable radio. :)

Oh, the "whys" of the datasheets... The information is there not to be an axiomatic truth, but instead each speck of data must be slowly inhaled while carefully performing a deep search inside oneself to find the true metaphysical sense...

I don't understand the connection between sleeping, alarms, time, and electrical testing. LOL. Might as well sell an electric car with a free gas can.
