Test off-line leds SMPS with KP184 DC load
« on: August 29, 2020, 01:47:12 pm »
Is it safe to test this non isolated PSU with KP184 DC load instead of leds string? I measured the resistance between the terminals of the KP184 and the earth at the terminal of the power plug and it is greater than 50Mohm (limit of my Brymen).

I'm not sure. This DC Load is 150 V rated max. That means it wil burn mosfets with higher voltage applied.
But LED power supply doesn't regulate voltage and it possibly can have any value (especially without the load or with small load).

Or you are asking about being safe for human? Of cause non-isolated power supply makes unsafe and dangerous  anything connected to it.

I forgot important details, I would like to set up KP184 in CV mode at 96V (my string led work at 96V 0.7A), component values are different from those in the picture, I mean safe for KP184.
