Hello
on this link there is a PoE demo board from Linear Technology. I wanted to know what do the Components D12, R20, C16, R19, D11, D13 und C17  actually do here.

Thx in advance

Assume is true. In this case the components D12, R20, C16 are sufficient for this function and no need for the other components! am i right?

How about the other parts pull the gate down when the power rail goes down to prevent the gate from going a lot higher than the drain.  They also discharge C17 and C16.

If might be useful to look at the definition of the NGATE pin.

I would be willing to bet that all the parts are there for a reason.
