I just purchased a Hakko 808 desoldering tool.
I works great. One thing I don't like is the stiffness of the power cord. I was looking to see if someone made a silicone replacement, mains rated wire.
It would be nice to have as flexible as the the cable from the Hakko station to iron ones as an example.
I have checked EBay, ect but have not found anything.
Anyone seen anything?
Thanks, KT

I recently bought a RIDGID brand 15 A extension cord for various garage and yard tools and it has a very soft, very flexible silicone like aspect. It was much more expensive than the cheaper extension cords, but you can feel the difference when you hold it and flex it.
So you might look out for one of those and cannibalize the cable. What I got was this item from Home Depot:

You could also try calling a few medical supply companies to see if they carry/can get any silicone jacketed Medical Grade Power cords (most are PVC, but they do make silicone versions). Just couldn't find anyone online selling them in singles (found Chinese listings for both ready-made and bulk wire, but all with high quantity min orders).

The Cleveland cable company stocks it.
