Small-scale biofuel production
« on: May 11, 2011, 07:26:48 am »
I have recently finished my master's project where I've been working with three other students on a biofuel production unit. The group was made of two EE and two ME students.

I was responsible for designing and building a control unit, that would interface to the electrical system and control motors, solenoid valves and heaters. The result's are quite good, I managed to finish the board, and have written code for most of the hardware features. We have tested the electrical/electronic side in the lab and everything worked fine. The full system run, however, was not permitted by the safety inspector. This has been a running project, so hopefully another group can take over and make some biofuel.

I'm attaching some files here, but those who are interested can go to my website for slightly more information.

Nice one.
What sort of bio-fuel are you making? diesel or ethanol based?

I'm sure having a computerized ethanol still would make you the hit of the party in college.   ;D

Not sure if people would like the taste of "potato wine", I guess that depends on what one is used to :D

Great work!  We need more development to get a small and easy to care for EZ fuel generator like back to the Future's Mr. Fusion; if not realistically fusion why not Mr. Diesel or Mr. Ethanol.

Making its size similar to a dishwasher would be an achievement already!
