SMPS + linear supply interference
« on: May 08, 2020, 06:53:46 pm »
Hi.

I am working on a digital dummy load with DAC/ADC and a MCU. I'd like to use my radial 12V fan from an old server which takes up to 2,5 A peak. Linear regulators won't make it so I am left only with SMPS regulator. I am thinking about to leave only 12V for fan to reduce noise on linear / analog part. Does it make any sense ? Maybe I need to take car of something else ? I've never designed any SMPS regulator circuit before.
