100ns DRAM chips in place of 150ns chips?
« on: July 14, 2018, 04:45:43 pm »
When doing a troubleshooting/replacement/repair project on something that has DRAM chips with a 150ns response time, would it be a compatible replacement to use 100ns chips?  I don't know how backward compatible they would be with a circuit made for the slower 150ns time.  BTW, I'm talking about single 64Kbit x 4 DIP-18 chips, not something like a RAM card for a PC.

No problem as long it's the same type. You can even replace standard DRAMs with EDO (but not the other way round).
