Software to print .eps files under Windows XP?
« on: November 28, 2013, 01:54:11 pm »
I very infrequently need to print .eps files to transparent media to create printed circuit boards. I last did it using an older version of Paint Shop Pro, but its trial expired. Whilst I know I am tight, buying it to use twice a year seems a bit excessive. Is there any free software to do this under Windows? Ghostscript (or is it Ghostview?) apparently does it, but I am told it's a nightmare to install and get working. Thanks.
Best regards,

                 Chris Wilson.

This says it will convert eps to other more common formats.

I just clicked a .eps file in my file browser (on Linux) and it opened up in Evince, which has a print option.

You could try the Windows version of Evince:

Evince doesn't print .eps under Windows, I asked on the support forum. BUT, I found a one version newer set of plug ins for irfanView and it's showing and printing .eps files in the correct size! Sorted, thanks all! I have used Irfan View for years, it seems it has only just gotten this sorted. Free as well, although I made a donation as it's so damned good. Cheers.

I would think Paint.NET would do that.

Adobe Illustrator does the job, i get the slight feeling it may be overkill for what you're looking for though...

Perhaps GIMP (the free Photoshop) can do it.

Try InkScape, the free Illustrator. It's definitely support EPS.
