Sourcing Realtek RTL8305NB-CG ethernet controller.
« on: August 20, 2019, 04:08:57 pm »
How do you get your hands on Realtek components? Do they only sell to OEMs in quantities of 1000s? The only place that I can find them is eBay of all places which is not really good

I want to desgin an ethernet controller into my design and I was origionally going to use the Microchip KSZ8895 however it's quite large especially when a lot of the features won't be used in it's unmanaged configuration.

I was planning to connect the RTL8305NB-CG to a LAN9514 to give me four ethernet and four usb off of a single USB (I realise the bottleneck of the USB but I am only handling small amounts of SNMP traffic, and the USBs from the LAN9514 will be used to connect to serial ports).

As an alternative can anyone suggest a good, cheap 10/100 unmanaged ethernet switch IC with 5 x MAC & PHY like the RTL8305NB-CG?
