Custom or special IR LED manufacture?

Hi,

Does anyone, by any chance, have any experience of custom LED manufacturing & manufacturers? Ideally I need two IR LEDs, with different wavelengths, say 740 & 855nm, in one smallish package, say 0603. Regarding economics: this would be in smallish quantities, say 10,000s initially, but for a high-value biomedical application.

Also any leads on custom LED manufacturers / dies / bonding in relatively small quantities (say 100K units) would be great. Similarly, Asian-based reps who can search the Chinese market and custom manufacturers (e.g. Everlight, Lite-On, HARVATEK, OptoSupply, Meihua, Tonyu, Ekinglux, Oweis Lighting).

I've just had a quick search through Digikey
850nm seems to be fairly common in 0603

740nm is much less common. I've managed to find one in the larger 1206 package but it isn't cheap.

Off the shelf is going to be WAY cheaper than having a custom semiconductor fabricated to your spec!
