Enclosure and PCB design for sd card access
« on: January 29, 2017, 09:27:06 am »
Hi,

I am currently trying to design an enclosure and PCB for a data logger. The problem is i need to be able to insert and remove the micro SD card through the side of the enclosure, ie. without opening the enclosure. I am a bit stuck for ideas for this issue. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Use a SD card holder of the push-eject style, the installed card edge can sit flush or just proud of the enclosure surface.

If you want it sealed against the environment then perhaps look at an enclosure with a hinged sealed lid.

Something like these http://www.hammondmfg.com/1593HAM.htm

little slot for the card.  Looks at the pdf for the beaglebone one as the pic shows the end opposite the sd card.
