Infrared emitter and detector component

Trying to locate a source for infrared emitter/detector functions both in same device.  Ideal device could have the detector in the center of emitters (6 perhaps)?

May try SMD detector in center of 6 SMD LEDs.

Possible detector: AMS.com  TSL25721 using channel 1

Are you sensing position or distance?
There are IR linear distance sensors, and slotted/reflective optical sensors which have both emitter and detector in one package. Usually an LED and phototransistor.

Making one is not fun, a lot of work. Ambient light as DC from the sun, AC from incandescent lamps and HF AC from CCFL/LED lights is always present.
