recently came across this IC but cant really find the datasheet. please help to identify thank you.

All SMD's should have a specific marking code, it is BEX in this case, google "SMD code BEX" and this diode will show up.
You will also find the code in datasheets, for example MMBF170 (transistor) has K6Z.

This marking systems works quite good but unfortunately there is a few exceptions.

It looked like it may be a bidirectional transient suppressor from the size and packaging and it was made by ST. With the BEX code, it was not hard to fine.

ST put the SMD code on their Transient Voltage Suppressor guide in the 1500W section.
