Suggestions for Li-ion 3S battery pack manufacturers?
« on: September 11, 2022, 11:28:42 pm »
Hi Guys,

I'm trying to build up a list potential manufacturers of Li-ion battery pack.

Little more on the application:
- Have a 14-16W device that I'm looking to power for 2-3hrs.
- Would like the recharge time to be roughly the same as nominal discharge time.
- Want to get probably a 3S 18650 pack, with OVP/OCP and other battery management stuffs, made certified and ready to go into a custom enclosure.

Currently, I've found one company which provides the kind of service that I'm after. (website http://www.zcfbattery.com)
Does anyone have experience with these guys? Or have other suggestions?

Would be in the 10,000-ish unit quantity ballpark.

Kind regards,
J_C_C

We bought 3S 18650 from them but could not recall the details.

Master Instruments are great and can be competitive on brand name cells they import compared to importing your own. I have been buying Sanyo and Panasonic from them for decades prior to LiPo's being a thing in R/C and generally orders from 100-4 or 5k cell orders at times. By the time we looked at importing costs, delivery schedules and backup well worth the tiny difference in price in that case (talking 10-12 years ago+ for the last serious orders). The International LiPo market for R/C they never took seriously so we went elsewhere but I still use them for specials.

Well worth a go for prototyping or start up quantities for a start and see how they go from there.

Every man and their dog in China will promise lots but most are also not 'manufacturers' in spite of what their sites claim so take all of that with a bucket of salt.
Coffee, Food, R/C and electronics nerd in no particular order. Also CNC wannabe, 3D printer and Laser Cutter Junkie and just don't mention my TEA addiction....
