Suitable replacements for HSMS-282x
« on: November 20, 2018, 02:34:05 am »
:wtf: Broadcom (bless their dear cotton socks) have discontinued the entire Avago Schottky, PIN and PIN Attenuator diode range AFAICT.

One of my designs (replacement levelling head for Tektronix SG504) uses the HSMS-282R Ring Quad.   So this rather inconvenient to say the least  GRRRR!

Are there any alternatives for these?

Thanks
Dave

Finding similar specs in the same package and same pin-out is a tough one.

People in this thread came up with some ideas for replacement parts: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/projects/diy-ghz-sampling-head-for-lt100mhz-scopes/msg1439392/#msg1439392

I posted in that discussion thread.

The only solution unless you buy NOS (new old stock) parts is to qualify another part.

At least there are potential replacements.  NXP discontinued all of their PNP RF transistors for which there are no comparable parts.
