High school students without technical training do not make groundbreaking technical inventions.
But anyway, reality check:
My phone has a 5 Wh battery (give or take). The charger can deliver 5 W continuously (5 V, 1 A). So whatever battery technology is inside the phone it is going to take at least 1 h to charge.
If I want to charge the phone in 5 minutes I need to increase the charger power to 50 W. Instead of a pocket sized cube, the charger is now a big and much more expensive brick similar in size to a laptop power supply. This is going to be a hard sell for the marketing folks, and a tough problem for the accountants since the power brick won't be cheap.
I predict the average consumer phone won't be charging in 5 minutes any time soon.
