Was originally planning to to build my own 300 KHz to 3MHz (approximately) amplifier - roughly 40W and using Class AB probably. Maybe an IRF510 amp. However I see there are some economical amps of this type on eBay, though most have a bit higher frequency rating that might need toroid rewind. I see that logarithmic power detector amps are also available as eBay Modules. |

If you are still working on this project, you might want to check out US patent 5613294. It describes an implementation of a quadrupole mass spectrometer, and it has a pretty detailed description of the electronic circuits used for rf generation, with a circuit diagram. |
