Newly "restored" Faxitron MX-20 with two Radicon RadEye 2 CMOS image sensors (2048 x 1024 total) and homebrew USB digitizer (4x AD9240 ADCs recycled from original Bioptics PCB, plus Spartan3E FPGA and Cypress FX2LP):


Lesson learned: don't buy one of these things without the original PC.

The above were processed with a median filter to remove a few dead pixels and lines/columns, followed by minor contrast correction and sharpening in Photoshop. Not too bad for what are basically raw images, with no dark-field calibration or other corrections that the original Faxitron software would have applied.
