Traco DCDC with large capacitive load
« on: July 24, 2020, 11:43:25 am »
Hi!

Im buildng a full sized segway clone and have an issue with my powersupply solution.
Since the Motors are industrial bldc servos the inverters need 24V for their control side of things. My Battery is 48V however and the simple solution is to use some traco dcdcs, in particular TEN6-WINseries devices. Sadly the inverters have >1000uF of input capacitance that im stuck with, this causes the converter to fail starting up. Having inrushlimiting helps but it seems a bit dodgy.

Is there some proper way of doing this to the spec of the parts?
