Title: Transparent knobs?
Post by: komet on July 04, 2013, 10:30:07 pm
I got some of these illuminated rotary encoders:

http://ch.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=PEL12T-4225S-S1024virtualkey65210000virtualkey652-PEL12T4225SS1024 (http://ch.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=PEL12T-4225S-S1024virtualkey65210000virtualkey652-PEL12T4225SS1024)

They look great, but I couldn't find any transparent knobs to go with them, neither at Mouser nor at Digi-Key. Does anyone know of a source?

Thanks for any hints.

Those look like they would be compatible with the knobs that Sparkfun (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10597) has.

Otherwise, you can try making your own by using some cut solid acrylic tubing.

I got some of those as well.

Haven't quite figured out why I bought them or what I'm going to do with them. But they looked pretty on the website  ^-^

These are clear:

450-AA150C - Eagle Plastic Devices - CLEAR 15mm D-SHAFT (http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Eagle-Plastic-Devices/450-AA150C/?qs=%2fha2pyFadugsBrV59I5O0VAhJZ8Izc1hxOwCA7gVrbVsx1JybgjIkA%3d%3d)

I used them with this Bourns rotary encoder:
