Trouble pairing RN-42 with a gamepad
« on: March 30, 2015, 10:52:10 pm »
I am trying to use a bluetooth gamepad to control an arduino-based robot through RN-42. I cannot pair/connect the gamepad to RN-42. I can connect to the gamepad from my laptop and from Android phone. The gamepad is slave HID. RN-42 also seems working just fine. I am new to Bluetooth. I tried all SA and SM options. Tried using different SC and SD. Tried changing SE. Tried using SPP and HID profiles. I am getting NEW_PAIRING and CONNECT failed. Hoping someone can help me. Thank you!

I think I found a reason for the problem. The gamepad is an HID device and it requires an HCI device on the robot side. RN-42 user guide mentions that RN-42 needs a different firmware version to support HCI.
