Trying to source complete 5.25" power, HD LED, audio. USB front panel.

FrankE:
I have a Corsair 550D mid tower case which I bought on the understanding it was a good brand, would give reliable service for many years and have good after sales service.
After a few months one of the USB3 ports failed. Recently the second of the two ports failed. The plastic spring behind the power button is broken so the button sits squint.  I've only put the USB3 ports through a couple of hundred mating cycles at most. There's no PCB so one can resolder new USB ports. Not what I expected from a premium brand.

Corsair do sell the loom and i/o port assembly (SKU CC-8930051) without enclosure but are always out of stock. This wouldn't resolve the power switch problem.

I've been googling for days to find a 5.25" or 3.5" complete assembly with power, HD light, audio connectors, USB3.0 A with casing for a few days to no avail. Plenty of varying grade with various combinations of I/O but none with power reset/HDD light.

Surely such aftermarket units are available?

I dont think so, you part is made for your case ...   a 3.5 slot adapter may give you almost all the plugs you need, but as you wrote  the power switch and or reset wont be there unless you add them

Had the same problem with my antec twelve hundred,  had to strongly insist to have a new part under warranty,  the computer was prone to reset many time, the bad bracket was the problem (flimsy reset switch),  resolved with a new one,  but i think they took it on a new case ...

Well that's not a jpeg!  It's a webp, not many people will be able to view it.

A possible alternative: 5.25" media dashboard.  You would have to replace the wheels with buttons for power; abandon your existing control holes and pay a bit of money; so it's probably not that attractive.

I don't think there's anything with a power switch already included.

An expensive alternative: fully modular front panels.  No idea if this company still operates or has stock in black https://frontx.com/  EDIT: no USB 3.0 of course!  But you might be able to click 3.0's in with some fiddling; not sure.

You will probably have the most luck doing an ugly retrofit of existing "USB3 A-male to motherboard" cables (and a new power switch) back into the existing connector mount with lots of glue.  This is the cheapest option, both up front and if you make a mistake, so I'd go for it.

Try contacting them directly; they might have broken stock level management systems.  Quite frankly: most companies do.

You could go the diy route and modify one of the existing 5.25" blanks. The power and reset are just simple momentary pushbutton switches and just about any LEDs will work. You can find USB ports like these:

Granted, it would be a bit of work and could cost $30 or more, but there's a good chance you could make something that actually looked better than the original and was more durable.

If it's a few months old just contact them and demand a replacement. You are entitled to one.
