options for sub 1ghz transceivers
« on: June 18, 2012, 03:41:18 am »
I need a cheap short range transceiver to work with an ATXMEGA32 microcontroller.  What do you guys who play with this type of stuff use?  I have some of the TI RF2500 modules but I need minimum latency on several IP cams operating in that frequency range and was thinking of sub ghz for these transceivers.  The range is very short (maybe 10m maximum, line of sight) but there will be up to 16 of these operating at the same time.

Anything you guys have had experience with that you like?  Modules that get me up and running fast are a bonus.

The 915mhz microchip module for $10 looks interesting

Thanks.

What county do you want to use it in, not every country allows video bandwidth transmissions in sub 1 Ghz  band.  If its low power and you dont cause interference with mobile phones you will probably be OK.

No, sorry, I think it was not clear what I intend.  I am using this in the USA.  The video transmissions are being done on 2.4Ghz so to avoid any possibility of interference I was thinking of doing the other telemetry with 915mhz.
