Precompliance Testing: ISN (Impedance Stabilization Network)
« on: October 26, 2015, 07:37:52 am »
We've had topics on this forum before concerning EMC and impedance stabilization networks.  Most often, the automotive LISN (line ISN).

Equally important, but requiring a bit more finesse, is an ISN for signals rather than power.  This must pass a communication signal with little degradation, while extracting the common mode signal for measurement.

Rather than write an overly long and boring post about it, I decided to write an even longer and boringer web page:

I'm pretty happy with it.  If you're interested, I can make a PCB and instructions for assembly.  The parts should all be commercially available...

Bonus picture for filling space:

Recognizable as one of the plug-in connectors.  Nice "etching", wouldn't you say? ;)
