Dear all:
I have a question. I have to make a design with and USB 3.0 socket, and the design needs to work with Superspeed USB3 capabilities
but, due to space limitations, I cannot add a USB3 UFP mux chip (HD3SS3220, PI5USB30213A and the likes)
However, I would't have problem losing the connector flip ability, if I can retain the Superspeed capability.
I've implemented USB2.0 functionality using USB3-C sockets in the past and they worked like a charm. Flippable and not flippable implementations
My question is if a superspeed USB3.0 interface can work at Superspeed in only one connector position without having problems or defaulting to an USB2.0 connection.
I've read the USB documentation (lightly I have to admit) and it doesn't says nothing about this one. I guess this is kind of a hack.
Do you have any experience in this kind of "partial" implementations? Thx in advance
Cheers
Nachus
