Homemade esr meter!
« on: June 15, 2013, 06:20:35 am »
Hi from Romania!
This is my first post on the forum... .and i like to present to you my homemade esr meter!
The original schematic, pcb and ideas can be find in this web site:
http://members.shaw.ca/swstuff/esrmeter.html
I have been using shockley diode for the brake rectifier ,because the 1n4148 diode was having a high voltage drop in the original schematic!!

The two leads go to the analog multimeter!

I really like the analog approach.  And by only using one high voltage rated part you really keep the cost down, nice one. :)

Tita,

Here is a link to an ESR meter that I designed.

This is also an analog meter.

I made one of those; it's been pretty handy.

I added a LED so I could remember when the power was on and put the whole thing in a box with space for the leads.

Had to buy a Chinese meter off of ebay, but everything else was out of the junkbox.
