Interface UART Touchscreen with CANBUS
« on: May 06, 2024, 06:34:49 am »
Hi
Ive got a 3d printer that its display uses a UART connection to connect to the mainboard. My setup uses CANBUS to communicate between the CB1 (RP4 equivalent) and the mainboard and between the CB1 and the EBB42 toolhead board. I want to use the stock screen.
I was thinking I would need a CAN>UART(TTL) converter to interface the display on to the CANBUS so they can all communicate together. Ive looked around but not sure which one I need. The display uses 5V, so Im guessing I would need 5v type not 3.3v?. Do these adapters work in both directions?. The display would need to recieve the data to display info and will also send input from the touchscreen to the CB1.

Or can I run UART and CANBUS together?
