Using LiFePO4 batteries on Maxim MAX1720x
« on: November 05, 2019, 08:27:38 am »
I'm building a device (charger, fuelgauge etc) that uses some (3 in series) 2500 mA/H LiFePO4 cells. The fuelgauge is a MAX17205, this little device can do cell balancing and fuelgauge. The default parameters of the device is for LiIon cells, if you are going to use (f.ex) LiFePO4 you will need to give it a set of parameters for it to work with that chemistry. I have contact thru a disti with Maxim, but it takes apparently ages for them to react. I have the prototype running here on the desk but can't get most of the fuelgauge stuff up and running as I dont have parameters for the Maxim device for LiFePO4 cells :(

I know it is a long shot, but have any of you out there done something similar with this device, and, by any luck, used LiFePO4 cells ??
