Vendors for decent cheap class X & Y capacitors?
(1/1)
cvanc:
Hi all-

Want to replace very old ceramics at the AC power input.  What brands are worth looking at?

I'm not sure I'm searching correctly; Digi-Key seems to have almost none on offer, which just can't be right...

Thanks.

What are you searching for?

Offhand there's ballpark ten thousand to choose from.

Mouser seems to have many more. FWIW, when buying a safety capacitor, price wouldn't be my first parameter to look at.

Absolutely.

In further searching I found the Kemet C900 which looks good to me.  Still, I'm curious what the go-to brands are for this part.  Thank you.

The safety-rated (line rated) caps are sometimes obscurely listed on Mouser and Digikey. On Mouser, they are not listed under Ceramic or Film Caps, rather under Safety Caps
