| OM222O:
Hello I purchased a few different voltage reference ICs (2.048v) and I'm quite happy with their initial accuracy value, but they have a TRIM pin which they recommend to connect to a voltage divider circuit. I was wondering if I must connect it to a circuit in order for the chip to work or if I can just not connect it to anything(or maybe connect it to the Vout pin or ...) :-// I'm specifically asking about ADR440BRZ (https://www.analog.com/en/products/adr440.html) but I also have a few from TI (for example the REF5020). They don't mention it anywhere so a bit of help would be great. Thanks! |

Usually trimming would be optional, unless specifically stated that it is needed. If you look at page 15 and figure 36 it shows a basic configuration with trim not connected. So you can leave it unconnected unless you want to get fancy. |
