| Voltage Sense Input for High Current PSUs |
| (1/1) |
| FxDev:
Hello, I designed 24V 250A PSU. In this project I used TL431 for feedback but one of my customer wants to use Sense Input for long distance voltage drop. Can you suggest me any schematics or app notes about that? :-// |

That’s quite a big supply you’ve built there; I can see why remote sense is an issue. I haven’t done one myself, but you could have a look at the EEZ BB3 design (schematics available on Github). My guess about things to look out for: - swapped leads - don’t blow up if a lead falls off (ie don’t have output voltage suddenly go to max!) - how much cable voltage drop will you support? (Note, someone working on batteries might want to put a diode in series) - how much current will you draw from the load if the power supply is off? (Batteries again) - will long leads (ie inductance) cause oscillation? - will the supply be OK if the mains input is removed and there’s still voltage at the output? (Eg capacitor banks and batteries) |
