This morning I spent one full hour using the knowledge acquired in this video:
http://youtu.be/115erzCCxgE (http://youtu.be/115erzCCxgE) Hope is correct now.
I checked a big bunch of caps, and, when coming to those collected after disassembling uncountable boards, there was one branded Capxon, sporting the highest ESR in this session: almost 6 ohms. :palm: Sure I heard of than brand before...!
Let's say that one third of my caps were discarded and I feel better. Thanks Alan. :-+
Back to current sources now.

For the future don't end a link with a period because it becomes part of the link and people can't click on it.
Also if you use the full url with http, it will embed the video in the post.

If you look on www.badcaps.com (http://www.badcaps.com) you will find plenty about Capxon (Crapxon) capacitors. Dell did an ugly dance about 7-8 years ago with them appearing on motherboards, in our case-Optiplex GX270, and in 15" LCD monitors. My company had over 2,000 of the workstations and monitors deployed and Dell paid the company to replace every motherboard and extended the warranty free for an extra year. The monitors didn't start to fail until after the extended warranty was out, so we were fixing them in house. No one was amused over that one.
