Title: weatherproofing a front panel
Post by: ledtester on June 12, 2020, 06:11:16 pm
I would like to weatherproof the front of a small hand-held device.

The front panel will have a small OLED display and either a membrane keypad or some low profile surface mount tactile switches.

What's the best way to weatherproof a front panel like this? I'm thinking some sort of clear tape or contact paper I can just cover everything with.

You can get adhesive membrane keypads with built-in windows (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3x4-Membrane-Keypad-12-Key-array-with-2-2-display-Window-/253945754137) for displays. Provided the rest of the case is weatherproof that should be all you need.
