Title: What are GX16, GX20 a clone of? .. Generic Multipole Connectors Recommendations?
Post by: Chendy on May 25, 2018, 09:29:40 am
Looking for some in line connectors ..
Something with a
- wide range of poles
- available cheaply, or clones or generics exist
- rubust, with strain relief
- say upto 8+ poles
good to haves
- options for IP ratings
- PCB and Panel connector versions

for example XLR audio connectors would be fine, but generally only up to 5 pole.

I have come across the GX16  (https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Aviation-connector-Diam16mm-GX16D-push-pull-circular-connector-2pin3pin4pin5pin5pin7pin8pin9pin10pin-Male-Female-plug/1949652_32805663469.html?spm=2114.12010108.1000023.6.511851400QTFjg)and GX20 connectors, refered to as 'aviation connectors'.
Does anybody know what spec they conform to, or what original model/manufacturer they are a clone of? or are they a unique chinese phenomenon??

side question, what connectors exist in in cloned or generic form, for multipole low current signals, relaxing the spec above?
rj45
  - no real inline connections, not robust
 FTDI ZH, PH
 .. ?

GX16 looks like a beefy DIN-connector, e.g. Binder 423 series.

Jones plugs used to be all over the place and are very reliable with almost infinite variety of connection possibilities
