What does this mean.

This is on the tag of a distribution transformer. Does anyone know what the number 12470Y mean. Thanks

helius:
12470 is the voltage across phases, and Y means it is a wye-connected primary. The primary voltage betwen each phase and the neutral (star) point is 7200. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three-phase and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta-wye_transformer for more details.

ataradov:
12470V is phase to phase voltage. 7200V is the phase to neutral voltage.

Thank you both, knew it was 7200 but did not know the other stuff. Still learning.
