What is this plastic dingus called?
« on: June 17, 2020, 03:49:06 am »
The clip that holds the tiny circular helitrim pots on the PCB?

These pots are about 6mm in diameter. Attached is a picture of two of these little guys on a very dusty 1S2.

I've searched for holder, clip, and pcb mount. Nothing.

I'm also asking on Tekscopes but it's so much easier to attach pictures here...  8)

I believe it is listed in the service manual as "HOLDER, variable resistor." Page: 9-10. Several other places has the same ref.

Probably a custom part.  You might find something suitable in the automotive sector, this kind of thing is often used for clipping pipes etc. to metal panels.

Could you get away with a small cable tie holder and tie?

Looks like it was probably designed for the pots in question, and I don't know of availability now.  A prime candidate for 3d printing, but as mentioned a replacement with similar functionality but different looks probably isn't hard to come by.

I think I might just give up for now, it is surely not that important... Just irritating.

it could be a repuprosed pipe clip!

You can get plastic pipe clips for things like car brake pipes, which are around 1/4" / 6mm in diameter?
