What kind of epoxy is this?
(1/1)
drummerdimitri:
I would like to seal some electronic boards to make them waterproof with the same stuff that's used at the bottom of full bridge rectifiers. You know that glass hard transparent kind of surface that seals really well?

What is it called and can I find it on Aliexpress?

Benta:
It's plain epoxy with added black colouring. Nothing magic.
But lots of epoxies have additives in them, not due to the final result, but to ease working with them.
The rectifier in your picture is super simple to seal, because you can just pour in the epoxy, and that's it.
Coating a PCB is a different story, it's not like pouring epoxy into a bowl.

Do a search for "conformal coating", that will bring you further.
Electro Detective:

Watch out for bubbles when applying epoxy,

and or look into how to avoid or pop them

Tomorokoshi:
It's more specifically known as "potting compound". There are various types with different mechanical properties.

SiliconWizard:
A famous manufacturer of those: https://www.electrolube.com/products/epoxy-potting-compound.html
