(db25) LPT port to stepper CNC
« on: March 07, 2015, 04:13:48 am »
Hi guys, i just started trying to interface an old MaxNC 10 SRV CNC machine with a windows pc. Because the machine is so old, the company only offer software to drive the machine with DOS. So i thought i would quickly throw together a board that will make it work with Mach3. My Idea is to make a simple PCB that feeds signals in to some A4988 stepper motor drivers. Here is my current design, can you guys give me some feedback on what improvements I need to make.

Changed my mind instead of making the adapter to convert the parallel port to the drivers, i purchased a breakout board that is isolated already. I will just attach the outputs to each driver with screw terminals since its not high current or anything .
