32 keys encoder with 74922

i am trying to make a 32 keys encoder using 74922 . as it was mentioned on datasheet i am trying to test it with Proteus. 16 keys circuit works fine but i am wondering how to connect 32 keys as on datasheet the connection between two key pads are not clear. please advise .

Perhaps designed like this is clearer.
In practice the X lines continue up to the other buttons (16-31) and the additional data line D4 is obtained through the 74C20.
