designing a variable single output DC to DC

Hi,

I am a new here. I have a few enquiries regards designing a variable single output DC to DC convereter, please:

- is there any way to generate a single output can be swing/ variable  from -5  to + 5 vdc base on the load requirements, input voltage +/-15 or +/-10 doesn't matter here as i can choose any! Also the maximum current must be 500mA.

- i have found plenty of schematics for dual outputs -/+ve but doesn't come as a single output.

- I have also used dual  inverteing and no inverting op amp and linked the output to POT to provide me a single output from -5 to +5 but with low current 10mA!!.

Your help and efforts are really appreciate.

Look for a class-D amplifier. You'll need some filtering at the output though.
There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

Have you seen the OPA541 and its siblings?

The OPA541 is a power operational amplifier capable of operation from power supplies up to ±40V and delivering continuous output currents up to 5A. Internal current limit circuitry can be user-programmed with a single external resistor, protecting the amplifier and load from fault conditions.

That might be an easy solution for your requirements. The 541 is a little bit too beefy for you but there are lower powered versions of it.
