CAN ISO11898 to ISO11992 converter
« on: May 19, 2023, 06:30:21 pm »
Hello mates,

I need to test an ECU based on ISO11992 but my interface is a Vector VN1630, with TJA1040 transceivers (ISO11898) the voltage levels between 11992 and 11898 is quite different. 11992 is basically used between trailers and truck in 2 node network.

The availability of transceivers for 11992 is quite non existent,  the only one I've found was Temic (atmel) B10011S, nowadays only Wabco seems to use this 11992 crap.

Does any one have a light to build a converter?

Greetings

Are you sure your interface can decode the packets? If this is a one off project then I think a pair of comparators will do just for listening purposes. If you need to inject packets then things start to go messy but still for one off maybe a discrete implementation CAN be arranged (pun intended).

Yes, I'm sure, the protocol is the CAN 2.0A (11bits) only the voltage levels are different.
