I am trying to simulate a rectified power supply design in Proteus 8 and have been researching how to set the transformer parameters to create a 120 VAC -> 250-0-250 VAC component. I don't need to simulate all the small details such as losses or current droop... I just want to understand how to set the coil ratios so the voltages are correct. Proteus does not offer a simple ratio parameter - it seems like the ratio is defined by specifying the inductance on each side. I have looked for the formula to calculate this but it eludes me - it certainly isn't as simple as applying the desired ratio to the inductance.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!
