415 3phase AC to DC
(1/1)
JoeyG:
Using a 3phase full wave diode array to convert 415VAC 3phase to a single DC output. What is the maths to convert to the max peak voltage?
Is it 415 * SQRT(2) = 415* 1.414?
trobbins:
Perhaps best to link to an actual circuit you want to apply this to, as there are a few ways to refer to 3-ph full wave rectification. Eg. 3-phase (no neutral) with diode bridge is perhaps most common. Suggest you go through a decent reference like "Rectifier Applications Handbook" by On-Semi.
WattsThat:
Yes, peak will be rms * sqrt 2 for the usual 6 diode arrangement.
