Futre of Tesla and EVs and EV apps
« on: May 01, 2019, 06:31:59 pm »
In the post about the Future of EV's I leaned a lot about EVs.  Sadly someone closed the post.
Since this is an experiment in progress I would like to continue the discussion.

Starting it off with an talk just given about Tesla.

I own a PHEV and recently drove from San Francisco to Ojai, California near Santa Barbara.

I own a Volt which is a PHEV.  Price for regular gas in California rally high, we are paying $4.25 / gallon.  Last month I was paying $3.25.  I didn't think I could find a charging station in the tiny town of Ojai, but to my surprise I found several thanks to the ChargePoint app.  Spent the day in Ojai and was able to chare my car for around $6.75. - Fantastic!

PHEVs are wonderful - What I don't understand is why GM is discontinuing the Volt.  Far better than a BEV, and certainly much better than an ICE.  I can't imagine ever buying an ICE car ever again.

IMOP it got closed because it became a thread full of mindless video's with no meaningful content, nothing but claims & counterclaims!

Yes and no.  I learned a lot from that thread.  Learned many things about Tesla, EV batteries and charging stations.  At the same time I learned why biofuels, hydrogen cars, HHO generation and solar roadways are all bullshit.  By no means am I an expert, but thanks to that thread I can now explain how stupid all of those technologies are.

As Tesla and EV cars are an experiment in progress, it would be nice to continue the conversation.  I see Tesla is had just introduced the Model S in the UK this week.  Really have to give Elon Musk for disrupting the car industry.  I don't think so many car companies would have EV cars if it were not for Elon.
