It's a nice idea, I worry about the reliability of so many electrical connections to individual shingles. I am not entirely sure I see the advantage of them being the size of a normal roof shingle rather than say double width and height which would still allow them to be intermixed with normal shingles but have 1/4 as many connections.Edit: I see they are actually much wider.

That said I am unfamiliar with shingle roofs, they are very rare here.
