Interesting book - David MacKay : sustainable energy, without hot air

I like the part 1 tag line.  "Numbers, not adjectives"

It is an excellent book, very useful for doing all sorts of back-of-the-envelope calculations.

I particularly like his half-dozen scenarios for the UK's future energy supply, where he is both interested and disinterested in the choice. All he cares about is that the arithmetic adds up.

Another useful soundbite: "there are huge problems" plus "there are huge opportunities" - but which huge is huger.

Shame MacKay died.
