Inverter power range and battery mismatch correction

(1/1)

HumbleBumble:
Hello!

So im here to find out (what my gut tells me) why this idea wont work. I am currently running an inverter with a battery range of 41v to 63v. However the usable battery range is 38 to 49. Obviously I am only able to get the top end of the battery. If I were to connect a boost converter from the battery to the battery to boost the voltage for the inverter, would it work? Battery resistance is about 400mohms. Boost converter is Chinese special claiming 1000w, goes for about 25 dollars.

Test it !
Often, a guaranteed 41V still works at 40 or 39.
But you'll have to keep the cabling short and thick to avoid losses at full power.
