Is there such a thing as a J1772 type 2 to BS1363 type G adapter (standard 3 pin UK plug but female socket not plug)? This would be to allow a public car EV charger to charger an ebike via its standard 240v domestic charger.
I dont know if the kind of EV charger you see dotted around the UK even uses 240V. Also not sure if J1772 type 2 connectors/plugs are the standard types here in the UK. Any thoughts or observations on this? Thanks

They might have some, or you can build your own. Would just require a resistor and diode internally.

I'm not sure how safe the 120V versions would be, when connected to a 240V charger https://www.amazon.ca/EVHIKING-Discharger-Station-Charging-Adapter/dp/B0CSBC995C?th=1

I think 240V only should be fine?

I've made my own for my longboard (J1772 US version). It works fine, just take care of voltage ranges.

I'm first doing some research into the type of EV chargers in my local area using ZAP map. It seems the most popular connector is a type 2 connector (or receptacle) that has a flat edge on the top. The one I've ordered is a type 1 (j1772) so it will have to be returned to the supplier.
I've had a reply from BP PULSE here in the UK asking if it's permissible to use their chargers for charging an ebike. They say yes it is, so that's at least encouraging. I've just got to visit a few of their charging stations and take a few photos of the connector that they use.
I've found this one https://evbitz.uk/T2___UK_13A.html which might be suitable. There are also various type 2 to type 1 adaptors (and type 1 to type 2) available. Here is the charger I would be using https://www.e-bikeshop.co.uk/products/bosch-ebike-6a-fast-charger
So some more research needed.

Just get a type 2 socket adapter and be done with it. There are no type 1 in EU, so no point in mulling over it. Type 2 socket is either 230V-ish single phase or 400V 3 phase 50Hz (remember the L-N voltage is still ~230).  Both work fine on a battery charger rated to 240V.
