Looking for USB-PD 3.1 Sink IC
« on: January 17, 2024, 08:18:46 pm »
I started to see all of the wall chargers that can provide 140W with USB-C PD 3.1. I have been looking for an IC that can just easily act as SINK that can handle this PD 3.1 protocol but have not had much luck. I found the HUSB238A by Hyentek that said to support PD 3.1 but offers no retail purchase unless to go to the only posting with no review on Aliexpress. People have been saying the FUSB302B can act as the middleman to request 28V but this IC is considered hard to use.

Anyone has had any luck finding a PD3.1 SINK IC that can be controlled or programmed via uC?

Thank you,

Look at the Pinecil firmware, they do EPR with the FUSB302B https://github.com/Ralim/IronOS.  Also, check out the PMG1-S3 from Infineon, they have examples on github for EPR using Modus Toolbox and the PMG1-S3.

https://www.ti.com/product/TPS25730

Dors not even need a micro to control it, works standalone.

That's a PD3.0 device

It only allows up to 20V@5A
